- The first step to cleaning your home for spring is to clean your windows to let all of the sun and fresh air in! I finally figured out the best technique to get your windows looking crystal clear! I made a mixture of thieves household cleaner, vinegar, thieves dish soap, and water. I used the rough side of a sponge to put the mixture all over the window and scrub away the dirt and grime. Next, I used a squeegee to wipe away all of the water and dried it with a paper towel. I dampened a paper towel with vinegar to wipe away any remaining streaks and our windows truly have never looked cleaner!
- Wipe away dust in places you might not always notice or pay attention to. In our house this was the baseboards, outlet and light switch covers, and on top of window and door frames.
- Wash your throw blankets, pillows, and even your curtains! I decided to switch mine out for lighter textiles and brighter colors! I purchased these curtains from Amazon and they come in so many different colors!
- Grab some fresh flowers from the grocery store or farmers market to bring a little bit of spring indoors! I bought a bouquet of pink tulips from Trader Joe’s and they bring me so much joy!
- Stock up on essential oils to diffuse all season long! Not only do essential oils make your house smell amazing, but they also purify the air and improve your mood! Some of my favorites for spring include lemon, lavender, peppermint, rosemary, jade lemon, bergamot, tangerine, geranium, and grapefruit!
I personally love spring cleaning and freshening up our home for spring but that wasn’t always the case. When I switched to natural cleaning products it made the process so much more enjoyable because I wasn’t breathing in toxic chemicals that made me feel sick and tired.
If you are interested in making the switch I highly recommend trying the thieves household cleaning concentrate from Young Living! One bottle of concentrate can make up to thirty 16oz spray bottles! Use this link to purchase your basic kit which is basically your key to unlock discounted wholesale pricing and exclusive promos. Add on the thieves household cleaner and a few oils and you’re all set for spring cleaning!
