I learned about simmer pots when I was in high school and my older sister got a seasonal job working at Williams Sonoma over the holidays. She taught me their signature simmer pot recipe that made their store smell so delicious! That was over 15 years ago (yikes, we're getting old haha!) but simmer pots have recently gained popularity again. So much so, that I gifted a few for Christmas last year! This is such a quick and easy DIY gift that the recipient will actually want to use! The hardest part was making the gift tag which, lucky for you, I created a template for you to edit and print here!
Simmer Pot Gift Ideas
For a Christmas simmer pot, I recommend using cranberries, dried oranges, a cinnamon stick, and clippings from a real Christmas tree or garland. The gift tag suggests adding a splash of vanilla as well! Since cranberries can last up to 2 months in the refrigerator, I was able to use some that were left over from Thanksgiving. You can buy dried oranges here, which will save you so much time and they look perfect!
Many people give simmer pot gift bags, but I think giving the ingredients in a glass jar elevates the DIY gift and it can be reused! This link includes 4 jars under $20! Make sure to grab this festive bakers twine string to attach your gift tag with instructions!
