Memorial Day Party Planning

This year I am hosting a Memorial Day party for my in-laws and I figured I would bring you along on all of the party planning details! This post is filled with fun and festive Memorial Day party ideas including Memorial Day party decorations, Memorial Day party food, and Memorial Day party games!

Memorial day weekend truly feels like the kick off to summer and what better way to celebrate than with a festive party?  

Memorial Day Party Food

You can't go wrong with the classic American cookout along with some yummy side dishes and, of course, dessert! My husband and I have been loving grilling out on our Blackstone, and we will be putting it to use for our cookout! On our menu we have hot dogs, mini cheeseburger sliders, pasta salad, watermelon and we're ending the night with s'mores on our gas firepit! 

Memorial Day Party Decorations

The decorations are mostly consisting of our table setting! While I'd typically opt for paper plates in red, white and blue, this year I decided to upgrade to melamine dinnerware that will be perfect to reuse each year for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July! The cream and red color combo gives a classic, vintage feel that I love for these summer holidays and pairs perfectly with these blue and white striped cloth napkins! I'll be filling this pitcher with ice water garnished with blueberries and raspberries for a touch of patriotic flair, and a flower arrangement of red, white, and blue summer florals will finish off the table decor. I also purchased this utensil caddy that will be perfect for cookouts all summer long! 

Memorial Day Party Games

Currently my 8 month old son is the only little one on my husband's side of the family, so our entertainment is pretty much focused around him haha! I bought him this bubble machine to play with during our cookout and I have a feeling it will be used all summer long! Some fun Memorial Day party games for adults include yard jenga (this one comes in red, white and blue stars and stripes!), cron hole bag toss, and flying disc toss (this one matches the table setting!).
