This post is all about mantel decorating ideas with a TV. The fireplace mantel is often the focal point of the room, so it's likely the most logical place to put your TV for easy viewing. In this post I'm sharing my mantel decorating ideas with a TV so you don't have to compromise a beautifully styled mantel for an enjoyable TV watching experience.

A few years ago we tore out our wooden fireplace surround and installed a tile fireplace with a wood mantel. I shared the things I wish I knew before our DIY tile fireplace makeover in this post.
A black TV box over the fireplace mantel can sometimes be an eyesore, not to mention all of the cords that come with it! For years I wanted to get the Samsung frame TV which looks like framed art instead of a TV when it's turned off, but it's quite pricey. On Black Friday my husband bought it on major sale for my Christmas gift! We went with the 65 inch TV and our mantel is 72 inches.
When it came time to mounting the TV over the fireplace mantel, I told my husband to please make sure to leave enough room so I could decorate the mantel without blocking the TV screen. He mounted the TV 8 inches above the mantel and I panicked after because I thought it looked too high, but it actually ended up being the perfect height! The Samsung frame TV has one clear cord that runs from the TV and connects to a medium sized black box that plugs into the outlet. We were able to slide the cord behind our mantel, down the side of the fireplace, and along our baseboard to prevent the need to drill a hole in the wall to hide the cord.
I used this tall vase with dried fluffy pampas grass to hide the portion of the cord that you can see between the TV and the mantel. To balance the height on the opposite side of the fireplace mantel, I used these candlestick holders and taper candles.
To balance out the mantel decor I placed this oval tray in the center. It takes up just enough room on the mantel without blocking the TV. We are constantly loosing our TV remote, so I thought this would also be a great place to keep the remote when we're not using it.
To our surprise, the frame isn't actually included with the Samsung frame TV - you have to purchase it separately. I chose the modern teak color bezel and I think it looks really nice with the color of our fireplace mantel.

I searched for Samsung frame TV art on Etsy and went with this wildflower art. It is perfect for spring and summer and ties in nicely with the colors of my mantel decor. In the fall and winter I will switch to darker colored taper candles, fall dried florals, and a new piece of art for my frame TV. I love that this fireplace mantel decor can easily be altered for the seasons and doesn't need to be completely changed out for new seasonal decor.
I hope this post gave you inspiration for mantel decorating ideas with a TV. Thanks for reading!
