I first started using essential oils in 2017! My husband (he was just my boyfriend at the time) and I went to visit my family for the weekend and my little sister had just gotten a diffuser and a set of oils from Young Living. I told her that I had seen so many different ways to use them on Pinterest and always wondered if they actually worked. Later that day, my husband started coughing and was having trouble breathing (we think he was allergic to our cat). My sister suggested that he try using her oils to see if they would help. He ended up rubbing lemon, lavender, and peppermint on his chest and we were shocked to see that it actually helped him stop coughing! He ended up using that blend throughout the rest of the weekend and, needless to say, we were officially essential oil believers.

1. Diffusing
I used to be obsessed with candles but I seriously have NO desire to burn them anymore. Once you get used to the smell of natural essential oils, the scent of artificial fragrance starts to smell like straight up toilet cleaner. I use battery operated candles now which is perfect because I don’t have to worry about forgetting to blow them out. Essential oils also help purify the air and can impact your mood too! Oils over candles forever and ever.
2. Bedtime
My nighttime routine is the main reason I can never quit essential oils. Every night I roll my sleepy blend on my wrists, spritz our pillows with our lavender linen spray, and fill up our diffusers. If I’m being completely honest, sometimes I’m too lazy to do all of this and falling asleep/ waking up the next morning is SUCH a struggle. I regret not doing it every time. I promise it’s worth it and you’ll get the best sleep of your life.
3. Skincare
My favorite thing about essential oils is how versatile they are! Not only do they smell good, they also have therapeutic benefits and healing properties. Frankincense completely evened out my red and blotchy complexion. Plus I love putting it on because it makes me feel relaxed and grounded.
4. Perfume
I threw out all of my old perfume bottles when I learned that fragrance can be damaging to your hormones, respiratory system, reproductive system, etc. Plus, like I mentioned earlier, the scent of artificial fragrance smells like chemicals to me now so I really don’t want to put that all over my body. I like to use oil blends such as stress away, white angelica, and valor for perfume because they smell so good and also help me feel calm throughout the day.
5. Cleaning
I use a natural household cleaner made with thieves essential oil. Thieves essential oil blend is made from clove, lemon, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus, and rosemary essential oils. It smells just like fall and cleans so well! I love it because it’s a concentrate that you add water to so it lasts for such a long time. You can get about thirty 16oz spray bottles out of one bottle of thieves cleaning concentrate. I use it to clean our entire house and I haven’t gone back to any chemical based cleaners.
6. Wellness & Immune Support
Consistently using essential oils has had such a positive impact on my immune system and overall health! I love having these tools in our home to help us when we need a little extra support. I use a roller made of thieves, frankincense, and lemon as a daily immune support supplement. We also love digize essential oil for tummy aches.
