How to Transform Your Front Door on a Budget

March 30, 2021

Your front door is the first impression of your home. Putting a little effort into the appearance of your front door is a gift to your neighbors! Plus it gives all of your first time guests a little sneak peak of what to expect when they walk inside. Here are 5 simple tips to elevate the look of your front door without spending a ton of money.

1. Keep it clean

Ok I have to admit that I did not do this, but I wish I would have power washed our front door area before starting this makeover. I did clean up all of the leaves and spider webs and washed the windows! We always enter our house through the garage so I didn’t even realize how dirty our front door area was. 😳

2. A fresh paint job

Painting your door can completely change the look of your house. It’s a fun opportunity to try a bold color too! I HIGHLY recommend painting your storm door to match! It’s one of those projects that you don’t realize how much of a difference it makes until you do it.

3. Seasonal wreaths

I personally love switching out our wreath for different seasons and holidays. I love how bright and cheerful this one is for spring!

4. Door mats

Door mats are another fun way to express your personality! You can find lots of cheeky ones from Etsy. I have even DIY’d my own! I just picked this one out from Target and layered it over this rug to elevate the look.

5. Flowers and shrubs

Bring some life to your front door with beautiful flowers for your guests to admire! I recommend choosing planters that will fit your space first. Next, find plants with appropriate lighting needs that will fit inside of your planter

I hope this most inspired you to spruce up your own front door for the new season! Thank you so much for reading!
