7 Easter Home Decor Ideas That Aren’t Tacky

February 25, 2024

With the first signs of spring I love to deep clean my house and refresh my home decor. Many stores start to put out their Easter decor and as much as I adore pastels and bunnies, too much of it can look a little tacky. This post shares 7 Easter home decor ideas that aren’t tacky.

Where to shop for Easter home decor that isn’t tacky

The first place I usually start to see Easter home decor is the Target dollar spot. You can usually find some gems in this area for $5 or less! If you’re looking for classic Easter home decor that will never go out of style, Pottery barn always has beautiful items but they can be a bit pricey. Marshall’s and Kirklands usually have cute holiday decor as well, but it get’s picked over really quickly! If you’re shopping early enough to wait for shipping, Etsy has unique handmade Easter home decor that isn’t tacky.

1. Easter mantel decor

When it comes to chic mantel decor, less is more. I opted for a few large items and an Easter banner. I found these yoga bunnies at a local boutique and thought they were so unique and added some personality to my Easter decor. Banners are the perfect way to decorate your mantel for any holiday!

2. Spring wreath

I love this wreath because it’s Easter themed but very subtle! I typically put a classic floral spring wreath on the outside of my front door and an Easter wreath on the inside of my front door. I use a black command hook that blends in with my door to hang wreaths inside and a hook that goes over the door to hang wreaths on the outside.

3. Easter bunny decor

Decorating with too many bunnies can make your Easter decor look tacky, and honestly, I am completely guilty of this! I just think that bunnies are so cute and I actually had a pet bunny when I was a kid! I don’t mind this part of my Easter decor looking tacky because it makes me happy! If you are trying to avoid decorating with too many bunnies for Easter, use other items like flowers, easter eggs, spring colors, and light textures.

4. Boards and trays

Even if you aren’t hosting an Easter meal, you can mix festive cutting boards and trays in with your kitchen decor. You can place these items on open shelves, against your backsplash, or as a centerpiece on your kitchen table.

5. Easter pillows

Holiday pillows are another subtle way to mix seasonal decor in with your normal home decor items. Michaels and Joanne Fabrics are my favorite places to find holiday themed pillows, and you can almost always use a coupon to get them on sale!

6. Seasonal dish towels

A really affordable way to decorate for every holiday is hanging a festive dish towel on your oven or sink. This can be as simple as getting towels in colors that go with the holiday or season, such as pastels or bright colors for spring.

7. Easter prints

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on Easter home decor, you can download prints from Etsy to stick in picture frames you are currently using. I usually get these printed at my local Walgreen’s store.

In general, there are a few things you can do to avoid your Easter home decor from looking tacky. I recommend mixing subtle Easter items in with your current home decor, using mostly neutrals with a few pops of spring color, and investing in a few quality pieces you can use year after year. I hope you enjoyed these Easter home decor ideas.

Happy Easter!
