BISSELL TurboClean PowerBrush Pet Review

The Bissell TurboClean PowerBrush Pet carpet cleaner has two separate tanks: one for the cleaning solution and another for the dirty water. This is really important because it helps you see that the dirt is actually being pulled out of your carpet. I was completely shocked by how dirty the water when cleaning my rug. I had to empty the dirty tank three times until it stopped sucking up dirt!

The Bissell TurboClean PowerBrush Pet cleaning machine came with one bottle of the Bissell cleaning solution but I honestly could not stand the scent of this cleaner. It smells like a super strong chemical scent and, not to be dramatic, but I felt like my throat was swelling up as I was using it. I was only able to wash 1/4 of my rug with this cleaner before the tank ran out, so I cleaned the rest using this nontoxic cleaning solution.

The instructions say to hold the trigger down to release the cleaning solution for one forward pass and one backwards pass before suctioning, but I think you should use my method instead because it worked so well! I held the trigger down and completely covered the entire rug in cleaning solution. I even took it a step further and did the same thing but in the opposite direction. I feel like this is what made my rug so fluffy because the cleaner really got in-between the fibers of the carpet. Next, go over the rug in each direction to suction up the dirty water.

I couldn't believe how much dog hair this carpet cleaner pulled up! It made me realize that my regular vacuum isn't working as well on our rugs as I thought it was. The best thing about this carpet cleaner though, is that the hair didn't get wrapped and tangled around the brush! The design allows you to pull off the plastic cover and use a rag to wipe up the dog hair stuck in the machine. 

Something else I loved about this carpet cleaner is how well it suctioned up the dirty water. I was really surprised that it was pretty much dry after running 4 vacuum passes over the rug. I opened the windows and turned on the fan for about 2 hours and it was completely dry. This was very reassuring to me because I didn't have to worry about the rug getting that wet laundry smell.

Overall, I'm really impressed by this affordable carpet cleaning machine and I'm happy with the purchase!
