Last month we did Liam's baby dedication at our church! Technically they call it child dedication because you can dedicate any age child until they are old enough to decide for themselves if they want to be baptized! We have been wanting to dedicate Liam since he was a baby but finally this day worked out when he was 18 months old. By dedicating Liam we are promising as his parents that we will raise him to know Jesus and teach him that He died for our sins so that we can live forever in heaven.

Leading up to baby dedication day I read this book every night. It has prayers in it for each stage of your child's life so I know I will refer back to it as Liam gets older. This would make a great gift for new parents - they have a version for daughters as well.

The baby dedication involved a short prayer at the beginning of church. The families stood at the front of the church and their names were announced. After the church service our family came to our house for a brunch celebration.

I knew I wouldn't have time to cook anything so I bought a variety of pastries, fruit, veggies, and quiches from Costco. I used my Cricut machine to make the banner hung over the window to match this pretty tablecloth that I found at Target.

No gifts were expected but his grandparents got him these sweet books along with some other little fun toys!

Our church provided us with a children's bible storybook as well as a devotional for the parents. I have really been enjoying going through these - especially the children's bible story book. I have learned a lot from it!

I hope this post was helpful if you are planning a baby dedication party, going to a baby dedication, or wondering what to give as a baby dedication gift! Thanks for reading!
