As someone who woke up sick on NYE and spent the first day of 2022 in bed, it was hard to feel positive going into the new year. Today, I really needed to get myself out of a negative mindset and remember the things that have helped me stay optimistic while the world has felt so broken. Below I’ve listed out the things that have helped me keep a positive attitude over the past couple of years along with some of my favorite quotes from my Pinterest board. I hope you can take one, two, or all 10 of these tips with you into the new year to have a positive 2022!

1. Listen to your intuition
I feel like I’ve gotten better at this over the years as I’ve grown stronger in my faith. It’s said that worry takes the joy out of living life. As believers, we have the spirit of God within us so we are free to live a joyful life without fear. Remember this next time you are struggling to make a decision. Go with your gut feeling and have faith that you are following God’s plan for your life.

It’s been a week since I deleted the Facebook app off of my phone, and I have no desire to download it again. Getting a million pointless notifications throughout the day is not only unproductive, but can also put you in a seriously negative headspace if those notifications are depressing news articles or judgmental posts. I can still log-in on my laptop when I’m in the mood to scroll just like the good old days – ha!

I can’t stop talking about how much I love my kindle! It was definitely my best purchase of 2021. It’s so easy to read in bed and small enough to throw in your bag to take with you on the go. My goal for 2022 is to read 24 books. Here are a few on my list:
4. Keep your home tidy
A cluttered home is a cluttered mind. Read more about my cleaning routine here!

I have no energy for gossip these days since I’m so focused on my husband (and dogs), our home, my jobs, and creating content for The Homeblondy! I find that people who gossip a lot are spending too much time paying attention to what other people are doing. I realized that when I’m feeling gossipy it’s usually because I’m feeling insecure about something, so it’s better to focus on how I can improve my own life then pick apart someone else’s. Attract more positivity into your life in 2022 by only speaking positive words!

In 2022 I am trying something new and I’m calling it “meals of the month”. I’m going to make a menu for the week and repeat that menu for the entire month. We already plan weekly meals but coming up with new ideas every week is though, so we’re going to try making the same ones all month long. We’ll see how it goes! Here are January’s meals of the month:
Breakfast: Toast with avacado or jelly
Lunch: dinner leftovers or cheese, crackers, and fruit plate
Dinner:
- Monday – salmon, rice, and veggies
- Tuesday – DIY personal pizzas on naan bread
- Wednesday – one pan sausage and veggies
- Thursday – spaghetti
- Friday – takeout
- Saturday – takeout
- Sunday – Crockpot chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese
We also order Hello Fresh meals once a month too!
7. Stretch your muscles and take more walks
Every morning I want to do a few stretches in bed before starting my day. I’m not the kind of person to workout first thing in the morning, but stretching I can do! In the summertime I take my dogs on a walk every day, but in the winter I’m not as good about it because I’m a wimp in the cold weather. I know the fresh air and exercise is good for them and me, so I want to be better about daily walks for a positive 2022.

Not only is it important to make sure that you’re getting enough hours of sleep, but the quality of your sleep is equally as important! Taking a hot shower before bed, diffusing essential oils on my nightstand, and using a weighted blanket are all things that help me get better sleep at night. I get most of my vitamins from Young Living. I like taking their vitamins C and D for immune support, vitamin B for extra energy, and sulfurzyme for hair, skin, and nails. Their supplements are made with clean ingredients and infused with essential oils to increase the absorption rate of the nutrients. None of this should be considered medical advice, and you should consult your physician before adding any supplements to your diet. If you are interested in purchasing anything from Young Living use my code 12816896 and I will add you to my monthly e-mail list with info on how to use my favorite Young Living products!

Think about where you want to be in a year and create daily habits that will get you closer to those goals!
