Our entryway has always been a challenging area for me to decorate. After about 4 years of redesigning and decorating this space, I think I finally achieved an entryway that is welcoming, functional and cozy!
In order for our entryway to be more functional, we decided to add this vertical shiplap accent wall with hooks. You may notice it looks very similar to our kids / guest bathroom accent wall. What can I say? When I like something I tend to repeat it throughout our house. I feel like this is what makes home decor look really cohesive!
To build our hallway accent wall we used these 8 ft boards from Lowe's and cut them in half so each board was 4 ft. Then we added this MDF board across the top and these boards on each end. Our entryway accent wall color is agreeable gray by Sherwin Williams.
Family pictures are a great way to decorate an entrance accent wall! I typically print professional photos from Nations Photo Lab because of the quality and affordability. I've already gotten so many compliments on these picture frames too!
These entryway rugs are a few years old now but the color is perfect for a high traffic area! The only thing I don't like about them is the fringe on the ends. I bought a few rugs with this braided fringe detail and they are so hard to vacuum!
To make our entryway feel welcoming I hung this cute hello sign that I've had for a few years. I got it from the Hearth and Hand section at Target but it doesn't look like they sell it anymore. The entryway table is also a few years old from Marshall's and I think a mirror is a necessity in an entryway so you can check yourself before leaving the house or answering the door.
To create a cozy entryway I made sure to include an essential oil diffuser. Every house has a specific smell and I want mine to be a good one! I love this macaron diffuser because it looks more like a ceramic home decor piece than a diffuser but it has great output! I usually like to diffuse something citrusy and warm such as lemon, orange, and vanilla.
Another way to decorate a cozy entryway space is to include a lamp for dim light in the evening. I love this floor lamp because it fills up the extra awkward space and it has a floor button to easily turn it on and off.
I hope this post gave you some entryway accent wall ideas! Thanks for reading!
